Applications are open for fully funded scholarships at Karolinska Institutet Sweden. We will go through the specifics of this scholarship, its advantages, and the application process in depth in this article. Scholarships at Karolinska Institutet Sweden are fully and partially funded research grant for international students. These scholarships exist in three categories: KI Global Master’s Scholarship, KI-DIS Fellowship and Karolinska Institutet domestic scholarships

Excellent students accepted into one of our Global Master’s Programs beginning each Autumn semester are eligible to apply for a small number of tuition price scholarships from Karolinska Institutet. The number of scholarships changes from year to year, but there are a total of 10 available for all Global Master’s Programs each year. With over 1500 international students applying for the scholarship each year, there is intense competition.

Eligibility Criteria for KI Global Master’s Scholarship

  • For the KI Global Master’s Scholarship to be available to you, you must:
  • have submitted an application to one of the global master’s programs at Karolinska Institute.
  • Be an international student who pays tuition fees.
  • Satisfy the admission and documentation requirements for the program for which you have applied.
  • Only first-year students may submit an application.

Application and Selection Process for KI Global Master’s Scholarship

  • The application period runs from October to January Every year.
  • The selection procedure is based on a comprehensive evaluation of the applicant’s CV and credentials, which are provided via UniversityAdmissions.se and assessed in connection with the application for a KI Global Master’s program. The recipients of scholarships will be directly informed.
  • The sole expense covered by the KI Global Master’s Scholarship is tuition (or part of the tuition fee for programs only partially given by Karolinska Institutet). Other funds must be used to cover other costs, such as travel and living expenses. Please be aware that the KI Global Master’s Scholarship is only available to students enrolled in a Global Master’s Program at Karolinska Institutet and cannot be used for any other purpose.

Karolinska Institutet Fellowship

The KI-DIS Fellowship is a merit-based, co-funded scholarship that can pay up to 200 000 SEK in tuition for two semesters (one year) at any of KI’s nine global master’s programs. This would apply to a master’s program lasting one year or the first year of a two-year program. An alumnus of DIS who attended school in Stockholm or Copenhagen is eligible to apply for the fellowship each year.

Conditions and Eligibility for KI-DIS Fellowship

If you want to be considered for the KI-DIS Scholarship, you must:

  • Be a paying student (from outside the EU/EEA) who has applied to one of Karolinska Institute’s global master’s programs
  • have completed DIS studies in Stockholm or Copenhagen
  • Must have made application fee payment
  • satisfy the admission requirements for the program for which you have applied.
  • Please be aware that this fellowship does not apply to the course “Molecular Techniques in Life Science,” which is offered at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
  • satisfy the admission and documentation requirements for the program for which you have applied.
  • Only first-year students may submit an application.

Components of the KI – DIS Fellowship

  • The two semesters of tuition are covered by the KI-DIS Fellowship. Other financing must be used to cover other costs, such as travel and living expenses. The second year of studies for students accepted into our 2-year programs must be covered by outside financing.
  • Please be aware that the KI-DIS Fellowship is not transferable and covers the cost of tuition for students enrolled in a global master’s program.

Karolinska Institutet Domestic Scholarships

Domestic scholarships are also available on a country by country basis for students who have already been accepted for master’s programs at Karolinska Institutet.

For the international masters programs offered by Karolinska Institutet, a number of domestic scholarship grants are accepted. You may apply for these scholarships if you are a citizen of one of the nations listed below.
