Eligibility Criteria for University of Sydney Scholarships

  • Have a proof of English: TOEFL/IELTS for non-native speakers of English.
  • Be a student pursuing coursework in a topic area the university has identified as being within its present and future research goals.
  • The applicant could not have been the recipient of an Australia Award scholarship prior to beginning the RTP Fee Scholarship.
  • Enroll full-time in a higher degree by research (HDR) at this university as an overseas student. Students may also be taken into consideration after completing a maximum of six months of course enrollment.
  • Must not have earned an RTP Fee Scholarship in the past, unless the prior degree was for a Masters with the current application now being a Doctorate degree.
  • Not possess a research degree seen to be on par with or higher than an Australian Research Doctorate, or, if pursuing a Research Master’s degree, not possess a research degree deemed to be on par with or higher than an Australian Research Master’s degree.
  • Applicant must not have applied for the scholarship up to three times in the previous five years.
